Creating a subscription

To associate an event with an event action (a programmatic response), create a subscription for an object or a class. If you create a subscription for a class, the subscription applies to all objects that belong to that class. Class subscriptions, however, do not show up on the Subscription list for the object.

Procedure

To create a subscription for an item (an object or a class):

  1. Start the New Subscription wizard in the administration console:

    1. In the domain navigation pane, select the object store.
    2. In the object store navigation pane, click the class or object that you want to create the subscription for.
    3. From the Action menu, click New Subscription.
    From the list of subscriptions
    1. In the domain navigation pane, select the object store.
    2. In the object store navigation pane, click Events, Actions, Processes > Subscriptions.
    3. In the subscriptions pane, click New.
  2. Complete the wizard.

Viewing the subscription list for an object store

Use the Administration Console for Content Platform Engine to display a list of the existing subscriptions for an object store.

Procedure

To display the subscriptions for an object store:

  1. Start the New Workflow System wizard in the administration console: In the domain navigation pane, select the object store.
  2. In the object store navigation pane, click Events, Actions, Processes > Subscription to view the list of subscriptions for the object store.
