Creating an index area fails with an error

An index area cannot be created because the version of the IBM® Content Search Services server is incompatible with the version of Content Platform Engine.

Symptoms

When an index area is created, the PERSIST_TS_INVALID_ROOT_DIRECTORY_PATH error occurs and the following message appears in the IBM Content Search Services error log:

IQQD0027E This action type is not supported

Causes

This error can occur if the IBM Content Search Services client files that are integrated with Content Platform Engine are newer than the IBM Content Search Services server version.

Resolving the problem

Determine the software version of the IBM Content Search Services server by viewing the build_info.properties file in the server-home/config directory.
