You can create a site at any time to organize resources based
on network topology. A site represents a geographical location where
resources are connected by using a fast, reliable local area network
(LAN). Object stores, storage areas, content cache areas, index areas,
and virtual servers are all associated with an individual site. There
is no limit to the number of sites that a single Content Cortex domain can contain. Each
site name must be unique within the domain.
Procedure
To create a site:
- Access the site folder in the administration console:
- In the domain navigation pane, click Global Configuration >
Administration > Sites.
- Right-click the Sites folder and click New
Site.
- In the new site details pane, enter the site name and description. Click
Next.
You need to specify the display name for the site.
- Click Finish to complete the wizard.
After you complete the wizard, you can access the site that you created from the
Sites folder.
Note: Each site that you create must be associated with a virtual server. If not, a warning icon
appears next to the site node within the
Sites folder. To associate a site
component like virtual server with a site, see the topic
Moving site components.
