Modifying the hosts file
If you want Content Platform Engine to use the NCH service name that is defined in the local hosts file, the file must contain the four-part NCH service name for each FileNet® Image Services domain that is part of Content Federation Services for Image Services. The NCH service names must be included in the host file of every Content Platform Engine server.
The general format of a hosts file entry is
IP_address_of_IS_Domain
IS_server
NCH_four_part_service_name
For example:
- FileNet Image Services Root/Index server IP address: 10.14.80.97
- FileNet Image Services Root/Index server name: davinci
- FileNet Image Services domain name: AccountsPayable:ExampleCo
The hosts file entry looks like the following example:
10.14.80.97 davinci accountspayable-exampleco-nch-server
Important: If you have separate Content Platform Engine servers
for Object Store Services (OSS) and File Storage Services (FSS), be sure to add the same entry in
the hosts file on each Content Platform Engine
server.
