Content retrieval priorities

When content is requested, the advanced storage area searches for an accessible replica from which to retrieve the content, giving preference to local-site replicas over remote-site replicas.

Until it receives the requested content, the advanced storage area searches for an accessible replica in the following priority order:

• Local site primary replicas
• Local site secondary replicas
• Local site asynchronous, provided that the asynchronous upload is complete
• Remote site primary replicas
• Remote site secondary replicas
• Remote site asynchronous, provided that the asynchronous upload is complete

After this selection mechanism, if the content is not retrieved, then the request fails.
