Viewing or editing attachments

By using Process Tracker, you can assign or unassign a target to an attachment. You can also view the target itself, or view the target properties.

About this task

You must have security access that allows you to view the target in the object store or library for any action other than unassigning the target. See the section on attachments for general information about attachments.

Important: Changes made in Step view affect all of the underlying participant work items in the step.

Procedure

  • To select the attachment:
    1. Select an active step.
    2. On the Step tab, select View by Step.
    3. Select the Attachment tab.
      Process Tracker displays all attachments defined in the workflow definition and the titles of the target specified for each attachment.
    4. Select the attachment you want to work with. For an attachment array, expand the field by clicking the pointer in the left-most column, then select the individual item.
  • To assign a target to the selected attachment item
    1. Click Assign on the Attachments toolbar.
    2. Specify the target by locating it in the object store or library or entering a file name or URL.
    3. Click OK, then click Save All Changes on the toolbar.
    4. When you are done making changes to the work items, you can unlock them, or leave them locked in order to perform other tasks.
  • To unassign a target from the selected attachment:
    1. Click Unassign on the Attachments toolbar.
    2. Click Save All Changes on the toolbar. The work items you have locked remain locked after you save your changes.
    3. When you are done making changes to the work items, you can unlock them, or leave them locked in order to perform other tasks.
  • To open the target assigned to the selected attachment:
    1. Click Open on the Attachments toolbar.
  • To view or modify the properties of the assigned target (available only for items in object store or library)
    1. Click Assigned Item Properties on the Attachments toolbar.
    2. View the properties or make changes as desired.
    3. To save your changes, click OK.
