Finishing work items

Completing work items involves retrieving and acknowledging or updating the status of work items, while terminating work items ends their processing and associated timers. For work items in the Delay system queue, you can only terminate them, not complete them. However, you can still end the processing of a child work item within a parent work item. If an error occurs for a work item in the Conductor queue, you may be able to fix it by changing data values and then completing the work item.

Terminating work items ends their processing and associated timers. The work item will not be passed on to the next step in the workflow and will be marked as complete.
