Getting started with containers
Container deployments provide a way to deploy a full Content Cortex environment in a fraction of the time required for a traditional on-premises installation. Container deployments also enable you to patch or upgrade Content Cortex components more quickly through operator automation.
The Content Cortex operator manages the installation and deployment of Content Cortex containers on OpenShift® Container Platform or CNCF Kubernetes environments. You can deploy operators using Operator Lifecycle Manager (OLM) or Helm charts on both OpenShift and CNCF Kubernetes platforms.
Deploying on a container platform provides the following benefits:
- Rapid deployment of Content Cortex components through operator automation
- Automated patching and upgrading managed by operators
- Dynamic horizontal and vertical scalability based on workload
- Built-in high availability and self-healing capabilities
- Consistent environments across development, testing, and production
- Resource efficiency through container orchestration
