Installing Spectrum Protect client

Install the Spectrum Protect client software on each application server where Content Platform Engine is deployed.

Procedure

To install Spectrum Protect client software:

  1. Download the Spectrum Protect client software from the IBM® Support site at Latest Spectrum Protect Server and Client Downloads External link opens a new window or tab.
  2. Complete the platform-specific installation instructions included with each Spectrum Protect client download package.
    Record the path where you install Spectrum Protect client because you must specify the path as the DSMI directory when you create a Spectrum Protect fixed content device in Administration Console for Content Platform Engine. If you are installing Spectrum Protect client on multiple AIX®, Linux®, or Linux for System z® hosts, the installation path must be the same on each host.
    On AIX, install Spectrum Protect client at /usr/tivoli/tsm/client/ba/bin.
