Managing the registered servers

Add, modify, or delete registered servers in IBM® Content Search Services.

Listing the registered servers

List the IBM Content Search Services servers to view the servers that are registered with the Content Cortex domain. The mode and other properties for each server are displayed.

Procedure

To list the registered servers for a domain:

Access the registered servers:
  1. In the domain navigation pane, click the Global Configuration > Administration > Text Search Servers folder.
  2. Click the Text Search Servers tab.

Deleting a registered server

You can delete the Content Platform Engine registration for an IBM Content Search Services server. The server can be optionally reregistered with Content Platform Engine later.

Procedure

To delete a server registration:

  1. Access the properties for the server in the administration console:
    1. In the domain navigation pane, click the Text Search Servers folder.
    2. In the details pane, click the name of the IBM Content Search Services server.
  2. Click Actions > Delete Text Search Server.
  3. Confirm that you want to delete the selected server.
  4. Save your changes.

Enabling or disabling a server

Disable a registered IBM Content Search Services server to prevent the submission of any index or search requests to the server. If you disable the server, you also have the option to stop the server.

About this task

A server does not need to be started to be marked as disabled. However, a server must be started to be marked as enabled.

Procedure

To enable or disable a registered server:

  1. Access the properties for the server in the administration console:
    1. In the domain navigation pane, click the Text Search Servers folder.
    2. In the details pane, click the name of the IBM Content Search Services server.
  2. Starting a server. If enabling the server, start the server if the server is not already started.
  3. For the Status field, select ENABLED or DISABLED.
  4. Save your changes.
