Annotations

About this task

An annotation is a note that you can associate with any step or route in a workflow map. Annotations appear on the workflow map displayed in Process Designer; they do not appear in a running workflow at an individual step.

To add a text annotation to the workflow map

Procedure

  1. Click the Annotation icon in the toolbar and drag it onto the map. you can also right-click in the map area and select New>>Annotation.
  2. To enter text and to change the color of the annotation, select the annotation and go to the Properties pane.
  3. To associate the annotation with a particular step or route, point to the edge of the annotation box and drag an association line to the target step or route.

NOTES

  • You can show or hide all the text annotations and associations on the map using the Show/Hide Text Annotations icon in display preferences section of the status bar, or by selecting the option in Display Preferences. You can also specify the annotation background color. See Display Preference for more information.
  • The text box has a predefined size and cannot be resized. The entire message displays in the Properties pane.
