Storing content
Content Platform Engine supports various devices to store content, which can be used individually or in conjunction with one another.
A storage device is associated with a storage area. You can create one or more storage areas in an object store.
Storage areas
A storage area is a place where Content Platform Engine stores content.
Controlling how content is stored
To optimize storage space, suppress content duplication and use content compression. Also, to enhance security, encrypt the content.
Assigning document content to a storage area
A storage policy provides mapping to specific physical storage areas and is used to specify where content is stored for a given class or object with content (for example, a document). Content Platform Engine supports the mapping of storage policies to one or more storage objects; therefore, each storage policy can have one or multiple storage areas as its assigned content storage target.
Maintaining storage area integrity
Content Platform Engine includes tools to monitor the integrity of the content and metadata in your storage areas.
Optimizing storage area performance
You can optimize storage area performance by tuning the content subsystem and by caching content.
