Allow users to add items to a folder

You can configure the security of a folder to allow users to add new folders, documents, and other containable objects.

Procedure

To check whether users or groups have the necessary access rights to add items to a folder, and to grant them those rights if they do not, perform the following steps:

  1. Log in to Administration Console for Content Platform Engine as an object store administrator (object_store_admin).
  2. Display the folder's security by selecting the folder and then clicking the Security tab.
  3. Add new users or groups, or select existing users or groups. Grant them the Modify Properties permission group.
    This permits them to add subfolders to a folder.
  4. Refresh the folder.
  5. Display the folder's security if it is not already displayed.
  6. Select the same the users or groups and grant them the Add to Folder security level.
    This permits them to add documents to the folder.
  7. Refresh the folder.
