Message expansion functions

You can use the attachment function to send the value of an attachment field (the actual document) via Web Services by adding a MIME attachment to the SOAP message. This function is useful only in the XML modality of Web Services.

This function is designed to work only in a Web Services message that is used in the XML modality of invoke or reply; it is not for general use in other areas of a workflow definition.

For example, in the outgoing message for an Invoke system function, you could insert the contents of a document specified by an attachment field, MyAttachment, into a string field:
