Intelligent archiving

Content Cortex provides intelligent archiving capabilities for static content from archival repositories, enabling users to search, view, and manage archived documents alongside other enterprise content.

Intelligent archiving reduces storage costs through high compression rates, improves customer service efficiency with instant access to archived documents, maintains compliance with GDPR and regulatory requirements, and enables seamless integration of archived content with modern enterprise content management workflows.

Archival repositories for static content

Content Cortex provides intelligent archiving capabilities for static content from archival repositories such as IBM® Content Manager (CM8), IBM Content Manager OnDemand, and Rocket Mobius. Static content includes documents that are stored for archiving purposes and never updated, such as bank statements, compliance records, and PDF reports. Content Cortex delivers high compression rates, content aggregation, optimized retrieval, and GDPR compliance for archived content.

Search and retrieval

You can search within archival repository folders, which are logical views of application groups. This feature supports folder-based organization to quickly locate archived documents through familiar folder structures, reducing search time in large document archives.

Document viewing

Content Cortex provides optimized viewing capabilities for archived content:

High-speed viewing for archived documents
Provides optimized viewing for archival repository line data, PDF statements, and image formats. Instant access to archived reports and statements supports customer service efficiency, quicker responses, and faster decision-making.
EBCDIC document rendering
You can view EBCDIC-encoded documents with specialized rendering through IBM Daeja® ViewONE Virtual viewer integration. This feature maintains legacy mainframe documents display with proper formatting and character encoding, enabling accurate interpretation of critical business data.
Side-by-side viewing
You can compare two archived documents or view an archived document alongside documents from other repositories such as Content Cortex. This feature helps compare related documents, statements, or reports for analysis, verification, and compliance checking without switching between windows.

Output and distribution

Content Cortex provides flexible options for distributing archived content:

Download in multiple formats
You can download archived documents in their native format or as PDF files. This feature helps save archived documents locally for offline access, record-keeping, or sharing with external parties who do not have system access.
Client-side printing
You can print archived reports and statements directly from the browser by using client-side printing. This feature helps generate hard copies of archived documents on demand for physical filing, customer service, or regulatory compliance requirements.
Email distribution
You can send archived documents as email attachments or share persistent URLs that link directly to specific documents. This feature helps share archived documents with colleagues, customers, or partners quickly, improving collaboration and response times without manual download steps.
Line data transformation
Archival repository line data can be viewed or downloaded in PDF or UTF-8 formats through real-time transformation. This feature makes mainframe line data accessible in modern, readable formats without requiring specialized tools or technical knowledge, enabling all users to work with legacy data.

User personalization

Users can customize their experience with archived content:

Favorites for archived documents and searches
You can save frequently accessed archived documents or commonly used searches for quick access. This feature helps access your most important documents and searches with a single click, eliminating repetitive search steps and improving daily workflow efficiency.
Recent searches history
You can access a history of recently executed searches for archived content. This feature helps rerun previous searches quickly without reentering criteria, saving time when performing routine or repeated document lookups.

Administration and governance

Content Cortex provides comprehensive administrative capabilities for archival repositories.

Folder management
System administrators can create, modify, and delete archival repository folders through the Content Cortex administration interface. This feature allows administrators to organize and structure archived content to match business needs without requiring repository-specific administrative tools.
Search template management
Administrators can create, update, and delete stored searches (search templates) for archival repositories by using Content Cortex APIs with full security and visibility controls. This feature enables administrators to provide pre-configured searches that are tailored to specific user roles or business processes, simplifying document access for users.
Granular access controls
Content Cortex provides granular access control for archival repositories with system administrator privileges for folder creation and standard read-only access for users. This feature maintains that archived documents remain secure and immutable while providing appropriate access levels based on user roles and responsibilities.
