Variables

Workflow system supports variables of each supported simple data type.

Depending on the application development environment and mode, array variables, which are composite data types, are also supported. See Data types for further information.

Generally, a variable is the name of a workflow field. If the data field is an array, a variable can also be an indexed element of the array, such as Array[Inx] or Array[Inx+1], where Inx is an integer variable.

Observe the following guidelines whenever using a variable in an expression:

• All variable names must conform to the standard naming conventions.
• Variable names are case-sensitive. For example, to reference a data field called MonthlySalary as a variable, enter MonthlySalary, not monthlysalary.
