Audit entries
When an audit event occurs, Content Cortex creates audit entries in an audit log that is stored in the Event table of the object store database. Audit entries are instances of one of the subclasses of the Event class.
Audit entries contain the following information or properties:
- The event, method, or action that occurred and any applicable parameters. (For example, a ChangeStateEvent event includes a PromoteVersionEvent or DemoteVersionEvent event.)
- The name of the user who performed the action.
- The date and time of the event.
- The class and ID of the associated object
- Whether the event was a success or failure.
- The names of any changed properties depending on the object state recording level.
- For relationship objects, the class of the ReferentialContainmentRelationship object.
- For the FileEvent and UnFileEvent events, the Containment Name (Head) property.
- For queries, the text of the query.
- For security updates, a statement that the permissions were modified.
Property information
If you set the object
state recording level, the system property ModifiedProperties returns
the symbolic names of the properties that were modified by the audited
event operation. This property belongs to the subclasses of the ObjectChangeEvent class
that logs events involving a change of properties. For a list of the
subclasses that contain this property, refer to the following items:
- In the administration console, under the object store tree of subclasses, examine the system properties that belong to the classes.
- In the Content Engine Java™ API description, see the ModifiedProperties property.
Audit entry security
Audit entries are secured by the permissions placed on the default instance security list of their class. You must be the object store administrator with full control access to configure items for auditing. Audit entries have an ownership property, but the property is not set by default.
The following operations are available for audit entries:
- Deleting
- Changing the owner
- Changing the security
