IBM Content Cortex on container platforms

Container deployments provide a way to deploy a full Content Cortex environment with automated lifecycle management through operators. You can use containers exclusively, or to provide additional environments alongside your traditional on-premises installations.

The Content Cortex platform supports containerization on OpenShift® Container Platform and CNCF Kubernetes, enabling you to deploy isolated, scalable environments for content services. Container deployments are managed through operators that provide automated installation, configuration, updates, and lifecycle management.

Container deployments offer several key benefits:

  • Consistent environments across development, testing, and production
  • Resource efficiency through container orchestration
  • Horizontal and vertical scalability based on workload demands
  • Portability across cloud and on-premises infrastructure
  • Rapid deployment and updates through operator automation
  • Built-in high availability and self-healing capabilities

The content services in a container environment provide enterprise-level capabilities for handling complex content and business processes, including business object management, application development, events and subscriptions, lifecycles, property and full-text search, bulk processing, versioning, classification, entry templates, XML content management, content storage, import/export, retention and holds, and customizable user interfaces.

You can deploy Content Cortex operators using Operator Lifecycle Manager (OLM) on OpenShift or Helm charts on both OpenShift and CNCF Kubernetes platforms.
