Creating a folder subclass

You create a new folder class with a wizard in the administration console, and then add properties and assign security. When the folder class is ready you can assign it to folders by changing their class.

Procedure

To create a folder class:

  1. In the domain navigation pane, select the object store, and then in the object store navigation pane, right-click Data Design > Classes > Folder folder and click New Class.
    The Create Class wizard opens.
  2. Follow the instructions in the wizard, and then open the new folder class.
  3. Modify the new folder class as needed, including creating a subscription to an event, adding properties, or setting any values that are allowed by the property sheet of the new class.
  4. Assign security to the new folder class.
  5. When you are ready to put the new folder class into use, assign it to an existing folder by changing the class of that folder.
