Deleting a fixed content device object

You can delete a Content Platform Engine object that represents a fixed content device if the fixed content device is not used by any fixed storage area.

Before you begin

No special permissions are required to delete a fixed content device, but permissions are required to check whether the fixed content device is used by any fixed storage area. You must have CONNECT access rights to all object stores in the domain so that you can fetch the storage areas in each object store. With CONNECT access rights, you can check whether any storage area uses the fixed content device that you want to delete.

Procedure

To delete a fixed content device:

  1. In Administration Console for Content Platform Engine, select the fixed content device that you want to delete.
  2. Click Delete.
