Upgrading the Content Cortex GraphQL application

You might need to upgrade your Content Cortex GraphQL application to communicate with your upgraded IBM® Content Cortex system.

About this task

Content Cortex GraphQL is deployed as a single application server instance.

When you are planning for an upgrade for the CSGQL server:
  • Update the Content Platform Engine client software and IBM Content Services GraphQL API Configuration and Deployment Tool to match the release level of the Content Platform Engine server software.
  • See topic Creating CCX-GQL Configuration and Deployment Tool user to grant permissions to the config_mgr_CSGQL_user, so that the installation program is able to detect that it is an upgrade and uses the same installation path.
  • Install the upgraded CCX-GQL API WAR file from the IBM Content Cortex GraphQL API package. See topic Installing the IBM Content Services GraphQL API Configuration and Deployment Tool to install and configure the upgraded CCX-GQL API WAR file using the CCX-GQL Configuration and Deployment Tool.
Important: When you upgrade from FileNet® Content Services GraphQL 5.5.12 to Content Cortex GraphQL 26.0.0, you must remove obsolete Eclipse configuration files. Follow these steps:
  1. In the GRAPHQL_LOCATION\configure\ directory from your 5.5.12 deployment, delete these files:
    • configmgr.ini
    • configmgr_cl.ini
    • .eclipseproduct
    • .options
    • configmgr.exe
    • configmgr_cl.exe
  2. Extract the Content Cortex GraphQL 26.0.0 package.
  3. In your GRAPHQL_LOCATION directory for the deployment, replace the csgraphQLtool and lib folders with the 26.0.0 versions.
  4. Verify that the GRAPHQL_LOCATION\configure\ directory contains these required files:
    • configmgr.bat
    • configmgr_cl.bat
    • configmgr.sh
    • configmgr_cl.sh
