Ensuring Listener port availability on AIX 6.1 and 7.1

Procedure

To ensure the availability of port 32775, perform the following steps:

  1. As the root user, set the lowest anon port value by executing the following command: 
    no -p -o tcp_ephemeral_low=49152
  2. Save the changes and close the file.
  3. Restart the server for these settings to take effect. 
    shutdown -Fr
  4. Enter the following command from the command line and verify that your change took effect: 
    no -a | grep ephemeral
