Associating a role instance with an object

After you create a role instance, you assign this role instance to an object to secure the object with role-based access control.

About this task

A role is applied to an object only after the role instance has been assigned to the object on the Security tab. You use Administration Console for Content Platform Engine to associate the object and role.

Procedure

To associate a role instance with an object:

  1. In Administration Console for Content Platform Engine, navigate to and open the object that you want to secure.
  2. On the Security tab, click Add Role Permission.
  3. Search for and apply the role that you want to associate with the object.
  4. Save your changes.

Results

After the role instance is applied to the object, the role security is examined to determine the effective security access to that object.
