Registering the IBM Content Assistant plug-in for Content Navigator

You need to register the IBM® Content Assistant plug-in to integrate the Content Assistant with the IBM Content Navigator environment.

About this task

You need to register the IBM Content Assistant plug-in on the Content Navigator web application server so that the Content Assistant capabilities are available on Content Navigator.

You need to first configure the Upload File Path on Server setting from the IBM Content Navigator administration console. Then, you need to upload and install the IBM Content Assistant plug-in.

After you register the plug-in, you need to select the Content Navigator desktops where you want to enable the Content Assistant.

Configuring the upload file path on server

You need to first configure the Upload File Path on Server setting from the IBM Content Navigator administration console.

Procedure

Follow the steps to configure the Upload File Path on Server setting:

  1. Log in to IBM Content Navigator administration console by using your credentials. On the IBM Content Navigator directory, select Settings.
  2. In the General tab, specify the Upload File Path on Server.

    You need to specify a path with write-access on the Navigator server or pod. For example, you can specify a path like /opt/ibm/plugins.

  3. Click Save and Close.
  4. In the IBM Content Navigator administration console, select Desktops and click Refresh.

Installing the IBM Content Assistant plug-in

After you configure the upload file path on the Content Navigator server, you need to upload and install the IBM Content Assistant plug-in.

Before you begin

Before you install and register the Content Assistant plug-in, you need to configure the Upload File Path on Server setting on the IBM Content Navigator administration console. For more information, see the section Configuring the upload file path on server.

Procedure

Follow the steps to install the IBM Content Assistant plug-in:

  1. Log in to the IBM Content Navigator administration console. On the IBM Content Navigator directory, select Plug-ins.
  2. Click New Plug-in.
  3. Click Browse to select the plugin JAR file from the local machine and click Upload.
    You need to select the genaiPlugin.jar file from the folder where you extracted the Content Assistant package.
    Important: Make sure that you use the genaiPlugin.jar from the latest Content Assistant package that can be downloaded from the IBM Content Assistant Dashboard.
  4. Click Save to complete the registration.
  5. Enable the Content Assistant plug-in for your Content Navigator environment.
