Registering the IBM Content Assistant plug-in for Content Navigator

You need to register the IBM® Content Assistant plug-in to integrate the Content Assistant with the IBM Content Navigator environment.

About this task

After you register the IBM Content Assistant plug-in on the Content Navigator web application server, the Content Assistant capabilities are available on Content Navigator.

You need to first configure the Upload File Path on Server setting from the IBM Content Navigator administration console. Then, you need to upload and install the IBM Content Assistant plug-in.

After you register the plug-in, you need to select the Content Navigator desktops where you want to enable the Content Assistant.

Configuring the upload file path on server

You need to first configure the Upload File Path on Server setting from the IBM Content Navigator administration console.

Procedure

Follow the steps to configure the Upload File Path on Server setting:

  1. Log in to IBM Content Navigator by using your credentials.
    Note: Use only HTTPS connection to access the IBM Content Navigator when the Content Assistant plugin is installed.
  2. Click Settings and select the General tab.
  3. Specify the Upload File Path on Server.

    You need to specify the folder path where you extracted the fncm-genai-version-n-YYYYMMDDTTTT.zip file. For more information, see the topic Downloading and extracting the IBM Content Assistant package.

  4. Click Save and Close and refresh your browser.

Installing the IBM Content Assistant plug-in

After you configure the upload file path on the Content Navigator server, you need to upload and install the IBM Content Assistant plug-in.

Before you begin

Before you install and register the Content Assistant plug-in, you need to configure the Upload File Path on Server setting on the IBM Content Navigator administration console. For more information, see the section Configuring the upload file path on server.

Procedure

Follow the steps to install the IBM Content Assistant plug-in:

  1. Log in to the IBM Content Navigator administration console. On the IBM Content Navigator directory, select Plug-ins.
  2. Click New Plug-in.
  3. Specify the JAR file path for the Content Assistant plug-in.
    You need to enter the path to genaiPlugin.jar file within the folder where you extracted the Content Assistant package. For more information, see the topic Downloading and extracting the IBM Content Assistant package.
  4. Click Load.
  5. Click Save to complete the registration.
  6. Enable the Content Assistant plug-in for your Content Navigator environment.
