Installing the persistent text extraction add-on

You must install the Persistent Text Extraction add-on before you enable your business documents to be consumed by the Content Assistant service.

About this task

Based on your Content Platform Engine version, choose one of the following tasks:

 (CPE V5.6 and later) Installing the persistent text extraction add-on

For CPE V5.6 and later, you need to install the persistent text extraction add-on for the object store where you want to enable persistent text extraction.

Procedure

To install persistent text extraction add-on for an object store:

  1. Access the object store where you want to use the add-on:
    1. In the domain navigation pane, click the object store where you want to install the add-on.
    2. In the object store navigation pane, click the name of the object store (the top-level item).
  2. From the Actions menu in the object store tab, click Install Add-on Features.
  3. Select the 5.6.0 Persistent Text Extract Extensions and click OK.
  4. Repeat steps Step 1 through Step 3 for each object store where you want to use the add-on.

 (CPE V5.5.12 and earlier) Installing the persistent text extraction add-on

For CPE V5.5.12 and earlier, you must create the Persistent Text Extraction add-on for your domain before you install the add-on for an object store.

Procedure

  1. Access the folder where you extracted the IBM® Content Assistant package.
    For more information, see the topic Downloading and extracting the IBM Content Assistant package.
  2. From the extracted IBM Content Assistant package folder, copy the Persistent Text Extraction add-on files into a single directory in the CPE server local file system.
    To install the Persistent Text Extraction add-on, you need to copy the following files into a single directory in the CPE server local file system:
    • PersistentExtractsAddOn.xml - The add-on descriptor file for the Persistent Text Extraction add-on.
    • TextExtractExtensions.xml - The import dataset associated with the Persistent Text Extraction add-on.
    Important: Copy all the Persistent Text Extraction add-on files to the same directory on the CPE server local file system. These files must not be altered.
  3. Log in to the Administration Console for Content Platform Engine (ACCE) as a GCD administrator.
  4. Start the New Add-On wizard in the administration console:
    1. In the domain navigation pane, go to Global Configuration > Data Design > Add-ons.
    2. Right-click the Add-ons node and click New Add-On.
    3. Choose the descriptor method to install the add-on and specify the local path to the descriptor file.
      The descriptor file is the PersistentExtractsAddOn.xml that you copied to the local file system in Step 2.
    4. Select Optional in the Create the Add-on dialog box.
    5. Specify the local path to the import dataset.
      The import dataset is the TextExtractExtensions.xml file that you copied to the local file system in Step 2.
    6. Complete the wizard.
  5. Access the object store where you want to use the add-on:
    1. In the domain navigation pane, click the object store where you want to install the add-on.
    2. In the object store navigation pane, click the name of the object store (the top-level item).
  6. From the Actions menu in the object store tab, click Install Add-on Features.
  7. Select the 5.5.8 GenAI Extensions and click OK.
  8. Repeat steps Step 5 through Step 7 for each object store where you want to use the add-on.
