Registering an object store with a Content Assistant instance

For each object store where you want to use the Content Assistant, you need to register the object store with a Content Assistant instance from your subscription.

Before you begin

Before you register each object store with a Content Assistant instance, make sure that you configure any proxy server that you want to use to connect the object store with the Content Assistant service. For more information, see the topic (Optional) Configuring a forward proxy server.

About this task

Each Content Assistant instance in your subscription is associated with an access code. To register an object store with a Content Assistant instance, you must update the Gen AI Configuration object in that object store with the access code from your Content Assistant instance.
Note: For each FileNet P8 domain in your environment, when you register an object store with a Content Assistant instance, the instance belongs to the FileNet P8 domain that contains the object store. You can add the instance to other object stores within the same domain. But, you cannot add the instance to an object store that belongs to a different domain.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Administration Console for Content Platform Engine (ACCE) as an object store administrator.
  2. Go to the object store where you want to use the Content Assistant.
  3. In the left-pane, go to Search.
  4. Click New Object Store Search.
  5. In Simple View, specify the Class as Gen AI Configuration and click Run.
The search results display a single Gen AI Configuration object.
  6. From the search results, click the object ID to access the properties for the Gen AI Configuration object.
  7. Specify the Content Assistant properties for the object store.
    1. Enter the Content Assistant access code in the Gen AI Access Code field.
You need to set the Gen AI Access Code property for the GenAI Configuration object to register your object store with a Content Assistant instance. For more information, see the topic Getting the IBM® Content Assistant access code.
  8. Click Save.
Note: The save operation might take a couple of minutes for the first object store that is registered with the Content Assistant.
Do not click Save more than once. Sometimes, the registration process can time out, resulting in an error that states that the change was not saved. If this occurs, apply the change again.
  9. Repeat the steps for each object store where you want to use the Content Assistant.
