Preparing your system to use IBM Content Assistant

Before you install IBM® Content Assistant, make sure that you fulfill the following prerequisites and requirements.

Prerequisites

  • IBM FileNet® Content Manager

    To understand the Content Platform Engine versions that the IBM Content Assistant supports, refer to the IBM Software Product Compatibility Matrix External link opens a new window or tab.

  • IBM Content Navigator

    To understand the Content Navigator versions that the IBM Content Assistant supports, refer to the IBM Software Product Compatibility Matrix External link opens a new window or tab.

  • Supported deployment types

    IBM Content Assistant supports the following deployment types:

    • FNCM traditional WebSphere® Application Server environments.
      Note: IBM Content Assistant is supported on WebSphere Application Server that use TLS 1.2 or TLS 1.3 only.

    • FNCM container deployments that use Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF certified) or OpenShift Container Platform platforms.
    • FNCM capability that is installed as part of a IBM Cloud Pak® for Business Automation deployment on OpenShift Container Platform platform. Networking requirements

IBM Content Assistant must be able to connect with the SaaS-based FNCM GenAI Connector Service and IBM watsonx Assistant services.

The following table outlines the necessary networking requirements for accessing FNCM GenAI Connector Service and IBM watsonx Assistant related URLs based on different cloud regions:
