Preparing Content Platform Engine

You need to prepare the Content Platform Engine environment to integrate with the IBM® Content Assistant.

Deploying the Content Assistant jar file
Deploy the Content Assistant jar file in each Content Platform Engine(CPE) server in your environment.
Importing the Content Assistant certificate into containerized Content Platform Engine deployments
To integrate the Content Assistant with your FileNet Content Manager container environment, you must first import the Content Assistant Transport Layer Security (TLS) certificate in Privacy Enhanced Mail (PEM) format. Then, add the certificate into the operator trust list of the FileNet Content Manager stand-alone operator or CP4BA Content operator depending on your deployment type.

Import the Content Assistant root certificate into the WebSphere® Application Server truststore to enable integration with traditional Content Platform Engine deployments.
Installing the Content Assistant add-on for an object store
You install IBM Content Assistant as an add-on for each object store where you want to use the Content Assistant capabilities.
Enabling persistent text extraction
You must enable persistent text extraction for each object store where you want to use the Content Assistant.
(Optional) Configuring a forward proxy server
You can optionally configure a forward proxy service between the Content Platform Engine server and the Content Assistant service.
Registering an object store with a Content Assistant instance
For each object store where you want to use the Content Assistant, you need to register the object store with a Content Assistant instance from your subscription.
Using the watsonx.ai account provided with the Content Assistant
The Content Assistant, by default, uses a specific watsonx.ai account.
(Optional) Using your own watsonx.ai account with the Content Assistant
You can purchase a watsonx.ai license in order to use your own watsonx.ai account with the Content Assistant.
Creating a document class subscription for vector indexing
The Content Assistant can only answer questions about documents that are vector indexed. You can create a vector index for a document only when you enable vector indexing for the document class or the parent class of the document.
Creating a document class subscription for watsonx summary
You can generate document summaries only after you enable watsonx summary generation for a document class or a parent class of the document.
