Downloading and extracting the IBM Content Assistant package

You need to download and extract the IBM® Content Assistant package to set up the Content Assistant for an object store in your FileNet Content Manager environment.

Before you begin

Make sure that you create instances for your IBM Content Assistant subscription. For more information, see the topic Creating a Content Assistant instance.

About this task

Use the IBM Content Assistant Dashboard to download and extract the contents of the IBM Content Assistant package.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the IBM SaaS Console External link opens a new window or tab.
  2. Access the Content Assistant subscription and click View subscription details.
    You can view the subscription details like the subscription owner, the subscription plan, and related information.
  3. Click the Instances tab to view the Content Assistant instances for your subscription.
  4. Click Open to access the IBM Content Assistant Dashboard for your Content Assistant instance.
    The IBM Content Assistant Dashboard contains the IBM Content Assistant package and the access code for your Content Assistant instance. The information is needed to register each object store in your FileNet Content Manager domain with the Content Assistant instance.
  5. From the dashboard, download the IBM Content Assistant package for your instance.
    The IBM Content Assistant package has the format fncm-genai-version-n-YYYYMMDDTTTT.zip.
    Important: Make sure that you use the genaiPlugin.jar from the latest Content Assistant package that can be downloaded from the IBM Content Assistant Dashboard.
  6. Extract the contents of the fncm-genai-version-n-YYYYMMDDTTTT.zip file.
    The extracted folder contains the files mentioned in the following table:
    Package content File name Description
     For CPE V5.6 and earlier Content Assistant jar files genai-ce.jar Content Platform Engine (CPE) handler jar file, which is installed on the Content Platform Engine server.
     For CPE V5.6 and earlier  Content Engine AddOn files
    • GenaiAddon.xml
    • GenaiExtensions.xml
    • GenaiPostImprtScript.js
    • PersistentExtractsAddOn.xml
    • TextExtractExtensions.xml
    		Content Platform Engine (CPE) AddOn and descriptor files that need to be installed on each object store where you plan to use the Content Assistant.
    IBM Content Navigator (ICN) plug-in genaiPlugin.jar IBM Content Navigator plug-in jar file, which is installed on IBM Content Navigator server.
