Installing and configuring the IBM WebSphere Application Server Deployment Manager and nodes
WebSphere® Application Server Network Deployment is provided with IBM® Connections. Install IBM WebSphere Application Server on the Deployment Manager and nodes to prepare for IBM Connections installation.
Before you begin
Considerations for IBM i:
- Make sure the offering tag of the WebSphere Application Server response file includes both core.feature and ejbdeploy when installing WebSphere Application Server.
- After installing WebSphere Application Server, change WebSphere Application Server to use the 64-bit version of JVM. Refer to the managesdk command for more information.
- Use dmgr as Deploy Manager profile name.
- DM_host requires in lowercase for the manageprofiles or addNode command.
- Metrics on IBM i requires Cognos® server on AIX®. Install IBM WebSphere Application Server Base on AIX before installing Cognos Business Intelligence.

The heap size of the Deployment Manager might need to be increased beyond the default values if an out-of-memory condition is experienced while installing IBM Connections. See Reviewing the JVM heap size for more information.
