When to Define the Local Node as the Adjacent Node
You must also define the local node as an adjacent node to:
- Specify the VTAM application IDs that are used for IUI and batch sessions. The APPLIDS match those defined during installation preparation as described in the IBM® Sterling Connect:Direct® for z/OS® Configuration Guide.
- Provide the ability to run Processes where the local node is both the initiating and target node (PNODE and SNODE). The communications name matches the APPLID defined during installation preparation.
- Supply the communication address for a TCP API, if it is not specified during the user signon.
If you are using TCP/IP only and SNA is set to NO, refer to Initializing IBM Connect:Direct without SNA Support in the IBM Connect:Direct for z/OS Configuration Guide.
