PROPAGATE.DSNTYPE.EXTENDED= EXTPREF|EXTREQ
When IBM®
Connect:Direct® for z/OS® propagates
the extended format dataset DSNTYPE (controlled by the receiver specifying PROPAGATE.DSNTYPE=YES
in his INITPARMs), this parameter specifies which DSNTYPE value to use in DYNALLOC: EXTPREF or
EXTREQ. Before
IBM
Connect:Direct 6.3, it was always EXTPREF.
- EXTPREF - If the dataset cannot be created using the Extended Format attribute, it will be created without it, and so the allocation (and Process step) has a better chance of succeeding. This is the default and legacy behavior.
- EXTREQ - If the dataset cannot be created using the Extended Format attribute, the allocation (and Process step) will fail.
Note: This parameter has no effect on the sending side. When specified on
the receiving side it determines which of the two extended DSNTYPE values to use in a new dataset
allocation.
