Special Considerations
This section details special considerations to be aware of for your platform.
- When a system-level administrator logs into Connect:Direct, they are automatically assigned an administrator role within Connect:Direct. This assignment overrides any permissions set in the user's functional or group authorities.
- When an API client sends a request to retrieve user or group functional authority without specifying a user or group name,IBM® Connect:Direct® for Microsoft Windows returns all defined user and group functional authorities.
- Integrated File Agent can only be configured using Standalone or Integrated Web Services.
- The database retry feature retries a connection for up to eight minutes before a failure is allowed to continue. When you use client applications, the application may appear to hang. If this occurs, check the event log for database errors indicating a retry is in progress. If the retry is unsuccessful, you may need to recycle the IBM Connect:Direct for Microsoft Windows server.
- PostgreSQL
If you do not install PostgreSQL as your database and would like to install it at a later time, re-run cdw_install.exe. You can also install the PostgreSQL feature.
- Integrated File Agent and Integrated Web Services cannot be installed on its own. Server and SecurePlus are mandatory for both.
- Contents of the Registry Keys used to store User and Node information are unencrypted. However, passwords are an exception. When Secure Password Encryption (SPE) is enabled, passwords are encrypted.
