Troubleshoot Connect:Direct® Problems

Before calling IBM Support, gather information to help support personnel analyze and troubleshoot your problem. Have the following information available when you call.

Use the Data Collector (Data-Collector.ps1) to easily gather configuration information into a single output file, such as:
  • Initialization parameters
  • Netmap configuration
  • User, Group and Proxy configuration
  • Secure+ configuration
  • Registry export for the Connect:Direct node
  • Basic system configuration report
To run the Data Collector, open a PowerShell console with 'Run as administrator', navigate to the 'Common Utilities' folder of your Connect:Direct installation, and enter the following command.
.\Data-Collector.ps1

The Data Collector does not require any input and will collect the information automatically. By default, the output file will be ConfigData.zip located in the same folder.

For usage details and examples, use the PowerShell Get-Help cmdlet.
Get-Help -Full .\Data-Collector.ps1
Provide additional information to IBM support depending on the problem, for example:
  • For installation or upgrade related problems
    • Installation log file
  • For transfer related problems
    • Statistics report
    • Connect:Direct process
  • For system related problems
    • Application and System event log
