Logging preferences and configuration
Use the logging settings of the Sterling Configurator Visual Modeler to monitor activity of the Sterling Configurator Visual Modeler and to help diagnose problems.
The
log4j API handles logging and uses the Preferences API to retrieve
logging configuration properties. The basic configuration file for
the log4j API is log4j.properties
. A copy of this
file with default logging properties is included in the WEB-INF/lib/cmgt-logging.jar
JAR
file packaged with the Sterling Configurator Visual Modeler and
is also placed in the WEB-INF/classes/
directory.
To override the default properties permanently, you must modify the log4j.properties
file.
Any values that you specify in this file will overwrite the corresponding
values in the log4j.properties
file in the cmgt-logging.jar
file.
You can override the default properties on a transient basis for testing
purposes by logging in to the System Administration site of the Sterling Configurator Visual Modeler as a site administrator
and modifying the System Logging properties.
