Exporting a workflow file

You can export and download Concert Workflows file from Concert software. The output of the exported Concert Workflows file will be a .zip and the output is stored in default downloads folder of your workstation. You can choose whether to export the Concert Workflows with absolute or relative paths.

Who needs to complete this task?
Any user with Concert Workflows access.

Exporting multiple workflows

Note: The following instructions apply if you are using the embedded version of Concert Workflows as opposed to a standalone instance. If you are using the standalone version, refer to Creating workflows in the IBM Rapid Infrastructure Automation documentation.
Refer to the following instructions to export multiple Concert Workflows file.
  1. Click Workflows > Manage from the main navigation.
  2. Click to enable the check box(es) next to the relevant Concert Workflows.
    Note: By default, the Export, Move and Delete options are not active.
  3. Click Export button at the bottom.
  4. Select Export relative path or Export absolute path.
  5. You will be notified with the export status as follows:
    Workflow export started..
  6. The exported Concert Workflows file is downloaded to your default downloads folder.
    Note: If you select multiple workflows files, then a single .zip file is exported to the download folder with all selected workflows.
Note: The file exported using Export relative path does not include the username so that it can be imported to other workflows. But the files exported with Export absolute path includes the username which restricts to import to other workflows that does not have edit permission.

Exporting a single workflow

Note: The following instructions apply if you are using the embedded version of Concert Workflows as opposed to a standalone instance. If you are using the standalone version, refer to Creating workflows in the IBM Rapid Infrastructure Automation documentation.

Refer to the following instructions to export a single Concert Workflows file.

  1. Click Workflows > Manage from the main navigation.
  2. Click to enable the check box next to the relevant Concert Workflows.
    Note: By default, the Export, Move and Delete options are not active.
  3. Click on overflow menu.
  4. Select Export relative path or Export absolute path.
  5. You will be notified with the export status as follows:
    Workflow export started..
  6. The exported Concert Workflows file is downloaded to your default downloads folder.
    Downloaded files have the following filename format:
    • For flows exported without the absolute path flows_export_<year>_<month>_<day>_<hour>_<minute>_<seconds>.zip
    • For flows exported with absolute path absolute_flows_export_<year>_<month>_<day>_<hour>_<minute>_<seconds>.zip
    Note: The file exported using Export relative path does not include the username so that it can be imported to other workflows. But the files exported with Export absolute path includes the username which restricts to import to other workflows that does not have edit permission.
