Revoking or replacing an API key

If your Concert API key is jeopardized or lost, you can revoke the previous key and generate a new one.

Warning: API keys are unique identifiers that grant access to certain aspects of your Concert instance and configurations. Always store API keys securely and limit access authorized individuals in order to prevent unauthorized requests or security-related risk to your data. You cannot recover an API key if it is lost; in this case, you must generate a new one.

Instructions

Refer to the following instructions to revoke and, optionally, replace a API key in the Concert UI.

  1. Click the user icon (circle) on the top right corner of the main navigation header, and select API key.
  2. Click Revoke API key.
  3. To replace the revoked API key, click Generate API key, and record the API key value and API key usage values.
Note: Remember to replace the API key with the new value in any automated API operations to ensure continual data ingestion.
