Blocks

Blocks are a fundamental component of workflows. In the workflow editor, blocks are contained in integrations, which are organized into a list of folders.

The integration folder structure is hierarchical. Blocks are contained within clusters of higher-level entities, such as APIs, providers, and custom folders.

Blocks are organized into three types: action, control, and function blocks. To determine a block's type, hover over the colored circle on its logo. To learn more about a block's purpose, hover over the question mark icon.

When you collaborate with other users, they might have permission to view or edit certain workflows that you shared from your application instance. These workflows are represented as blocks within the Shared folder. Similarly, workflows that only you can access are shown in the User folder.

You can add blocks to a separate Favorites folder. To add a block to this folder, click the star icon. Most blocks are stored in the Common folder because they share identical features.

To add a block to a workflow, drag it to your chosen location, based on the required logical sequence of the task that you want to automate. You can also add a block by clicking the Take block icon, then hovering over the workflow location where you want to drop the block.

Each workflow begins with the Start block. It contains the variables, both system and user-defined, that the workflow uses, and determines which worker group is used to execute the workflow.
