Concert Optimize
Concert Optimize is the resource optimization capability in IBM Concert platform. Powered by Turbonomic, Concert Optimize continuously analyzes application demand and the resources that support it. You can use Concert Optimize to make resource decisions in a platform context, informed by signals from observability, security, and resilience capabilities, rather than treating optimization as a separate activity.
What Concert Optimize is
Concert Optimize automates application resource management at scale. It matches application demand to available compute, memory, storage, and GPU capacity so applications get the resources they need to perform.
In Concert platform, Concert Optimize provides optimization data and decisions to the platform shared operational context. Concert assistant and other agents use this context to help you visualize, plan, and run resource automation actions.
How Concert Optimize works
Concert Optimize models the environment as a supply chain of resource buyers and sellers. Buyers are entities such as virtual machines that seek the resources applications need to perform. Sellers are entities such as hosts or cloud resources that offer CPU, memory, storage, and other capacity based on actual utilization.
This buyers-and-sellers model explains why a resource decision is needed. Concert Optimize continuously analyzes changing demand, available capacity, and resource pricing relationships. You can see where applications are constrained, where capacity is idle, and where an action can improve performance or reduce cost.
What you can do with Concert Optimize
- application infrastructure
- GPU-backed workloads
- private data center resources
- public cloud resources
- Kubernetes resources
Concert Optimize supports GPU optimization for AI workloads across VMware, AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, and Red Hat OpenShift environments.
Concert Optimize is powered by Turbonomic. For more information about installation, configuration, and features, see the IBM Turbonomic documentation.
