About incident summarization
This AI algorithm summarizes incidents based on alerts, AIOps insights, and associated runbooks using data received from IBM watsonx.ai. Using this algorithm helps reduce incident response times.
The Incident Summarization algorithm summarizes the incidents received by an IBM watsonx.ai integration. It can be used by the Incidents UI when the feature flag has been enabled (see Enabling and disabling the feature) and the AI model has been configured (see Configuring the Incident summarization algorithm).
Prerequisites
- Enable the feature flag. See Enabling and disabling the feature.
- The Incident summarization algorithm requires data from watsonx.ai. See Creating a watsonx.ai integration.
Note: To use this feature, you must run the watsonX.ai instance on IBM Cloud (SaaS) in the Dallas or Frankfurt regions.
Configuring the Incident summarization algorithm
To configure the Incident summarization algorithm to set up generative AI within the components of Concert Operate, use the following steps:

From AI Model Mangement, under the Training tab, click the Incident summarization tile.

Review the summary information about the functioning of the algorithm on the side panel.

Click Setup Generative AI.

If you have created at least one IBM watsonx.ai integration, click Next.

Select the IBM watsonx.ai integration that you want to use with the Incident summarization AI model.

Click Next.

On the Run model page, click Done to enable incident summarization.
