Know how to download installation files from the IBM® Website.

About this task

These steps are applicable for non-Windows platform only. Console mode installation of License Key Server on Windows is not supported.

Procedure

  1. Download the applicable compressed file from the Fix Central.

For example, for Linux, download the server.linux.x86.disk1.zip file.

  2. Extract the compressed file into an appropriate directory.
  3. Browse to extracted directory/RLKSSERVER_SETUP_platform/disk1.

For example, on Linux x86: extracted directory/RLKSSERVER_SETUP_LINUX_X86/disk1

  4. Use IBM Installation Manager version 1.9.1.1 to install your package in console mode:
Steps to use ./imcl -c command:
    • Open the terminal window.
    • In the terminal window, navigate to <IM install dir>/eclipse/tools directory.

      For example, /opt/IBM/InstallationManager/eclipse/tools/.

    • Issue ./imcl -c command.
For more information, see starting console mode

For more information about using Installation Manager in console mode, see working in console mode.

  5. Add repository location to Installation Manager preferences panel.

When you start Installation Manager in console mode using ./imcl-c command, you must add the License Key Server disk1 directory, the media repository for License Key Server manually.

Important: You must use location of file diskTag.inf from the unzip location as the repository location.

For example, if you unzip Linux server media, you must enter <unzip location>/RLKSSERVER_SETUP_LINUX_x86/disk1/diskTag.inf directory path into Installation Manager preferences panel as the repository location. For more information about adding repository, see Setting repository preferences in console mode, adding a repository section.

  6. Enter 1 to install a package.

Installation Manager guides you through the installation, indicating which keys you need to enter.
