Java upgrade to IBM Semeru 17

Cognos Analytics 12.1.0 runs on a new version of IBM Java, called IBM Semeru version 17. To support Semeru 17, many underlying updates were made to Cognos Analytics that you won't notice directly. However, the Semeru 17 upgrade provides a more advanced Java environment, expanding the possibilities for new features in future releases of Cognos Analytics.

Here are just some of the changes in 12.1.0 that are related to the Semeru 17 upgrade:

• FIPS 140-3 cryptographic modules
• JDBC drivers in JRE 17 environment
• Supported Software Environments page for release 12.1.0
• Model Design Accelerator removed from Framework Manager
• Updated JAAS sample configuration file
• Date and time format changes in the Assistant after Java upgrade to IBM Semeru 17
