Cognos Analytics Mobile does not support offline use. You can use Cognos Analytics Reports offline.

Does Cognos Analytics Mobile support Cognos Analytics dashboards?
Yes, you can see your dashboards from the Content tab, however it's recommended that you use pin boards in Cognos Analytics Mobile. Cognos Analytics dashboards are designed for larger screens and are not optimized for mobile screens. Boards have been designed for the most optimal viewing experience on mobile screens.

Can Cognos Analytics Mobile be locked down?
Yes, you can use a variety of capabilities from the Manage screen in Cognos Analytics to control who can use Cognos Analytics Mobile and what they can do in it.

How is Cognos Analytics Mobile better than the competition?
Our competition, such as Tableau and Power BI, just try to shoe-horn dashboards into a small screen. This creates a lot of work for you to create mobile specific layouts. Cognos Analytics Mobile handles this issue by using boards. Boards are easier to manage and are designed for mobile devices.

Cognos Analytics Mobile supports most MDM tools that allow you to use include and exclude lists for public apps in an enterprise app store.

How do I optimize Cognos Analytics Mobile for the best mobile experience?
Consuming content on a mobile device introduces a new set of challenges compared to viewing content on a desktop. For the best mobile experience, try making your visualizations as simple and concise as possible. It's difficult to sift through a chart with too many columns and rows on a phone, so try curating a set of more targeted visualizations.

How often are alerts in Cognos Analytics Mobile sent?
Notifications in Cognos Analytics Mobile are sent on a schedule, which is set per board. If your board contains monthly results, your alerts may be sent fairly infrequently. If you have data that is updated regularly, then you should consider hourly alerts or alerts sent every 15 minutes.

Which visualization types are supported in Cognos Analytics Mobile?
All dashboard visualizations that you see in Cognos Analytics are supported in Cognos Analytics Mobile. The only exceptions are custom visualizations and non-data visualizations, such as data players, image, text, shapes, etc.

Is OLAP supported in Cognos Analytics Mobile?
Yes, Cognos Analytics Mobile supports visualizations that use OLAP data, including crosstab.Note: Alerts cannot be created for visualizations and charts that use OLAP data. -
Is Cognos Analytics Mobile a replacement for Cognos Analytics Reports?
No, there are no plans to end support for Cognos Analytics Reports. Cognos Analytics Reports will continue to receive support, bug fixes, and comparability with the latest mobile operating systems.

Is there a way to tell if the Nodes processes are running?
The Nodes processes are always running. You can view the cognosserver.log to determine if they have crashed or restarted. For more information, see Logging.

Which TCP/IP ports should be added to my firewall's allow list?
Cognos Analytics Mobile uses the port range of 9303 - 9323. These ports listen for TCP traffic on a local loopback interface.
