Starting Cognos PowerPlay in silent mode on UNIX and Linux operating systems

Use the following steps to start IBM® Cognos® PowerPlay® in silent mode.

Procedure

  1. Ensure that the cogstartup.xml file in the pp_installation_location/configuration directory has been modified for your environment.

    For more information, see Manually change default configuration settings.

  2. Go to the pp_installation_location/bin64 directory.
  3. Type the following command

    ./cogconfig.sh -s

Results

IBM Cognos Configuration applies the configuration settings specified in the cogstartup.xml file, encrypts credentials, generates digital certificates, and if applicable, starts the IBM Cognos service and processes.
