Parent-child hierarchies
A
parent-child hierarchy contains relational dimension tables based
on a recursive relationship for which there are no predefined levels.
For example, an Employee parent-child hierarchy may specify Supervisor
as the parent member, and Employee as the child member. The relationships
within the data determine what is visible to report users in the IBM® Cognos® studios,
and you can drill down from member to member according to the defined
relationships.
IBM Cognos Dynamic Cubes supports parent-child hierarchies.
