Hiding or showing icons in the visualization header

You can hide icons in the visualization header if they interrupt the flow of the title text when the title is long. Or you might prefer not to expose the functionality that the header icons represent to users.

You can manage, for all or selected visualizations in the dashboard, the visibility of these icons:
  • Filters
  • Forecast
  • Insights
  • Narrative insights

Managing the visibility of the icons in all visualizations

To hide or show the header icons in all visualizations in your dashboard, follow these steps:
  1. Open a dashboard.
  2. Turn on the Edit mode.
  3. Click the Properties icon Properties icon to open Dashboard properties.
  4. In Dashboard properties, expand the Visualization header icons section.
  5. Turn on or off any of these properties: Hide filters, Hide forecast, Hide insights, and Hide narrative insights.

Managing the visibility of the icons in a selected visualization

To hide or show the header icons in a selected visualization, follow these steps:
  1. Select a visualization in the dashboard.
  2. Click the Properties icon Properties icon.
  3. On the Visualization tab, expand the Visualization header icons section.
  4. For any property in the section: Filters, Forecast, Insights, and Narrative insights, select one of the values:
    • Default - inherits the value that is set for this property in the dashboard.
    • Show - shows the icon even if the related property is turned off for the dashboard.
    • Hide - hides the icon even if the related property is turned off for the dashboard.
