Updating Published PowerCubes and PowerCube Connections

After a Cognos® Transformer PowerCube is rebuilt or updated, you can make the newer version of the cube available to IBM® Cognos studios using the copy and activate method from the Cognos Transformer user interface. This method of updating published PowerCubes is fully automated, which reduces the risk of errors that may cause connection problems when users attempt to access the cubes.

The copy and activate process can also be initiated using the -g command line option -g option.

A different way of activating a published PowerCube is offered by the pcactivate command line utility (Activating a published PowerCube using pcactivate). In this case, the PowerCube must first be copied to the deployment location manually. The pcactivate command is the only method to activate an updated Series 7 Cognos Transformer PowerCube.
