Log messages

You can specify the location of log messages and the size and number of log files. You can also configure the log server properties.

By default, log messages are saved to the cogaudit.log file located in the install_location\logs directory. The log messages can also be saved in a database. For more information, see the IBM Cognos Analytics Installation and Configuration Guide.

Use log messages for troubleshooting only. If you want to track report, dashboard, or story usage, use audit reports. For more information, see Audit reporting.
