Waterfall

Use a waterfall visualization to show the cumulative effect of a series of measurement that can increase or decrease the preceding value.

The total value that is the sum of all series values is shown in the final column of different color.

To re-create this waterfall visualization, perform the following steps:

  1. From a dashboard, click the Visualizations icon Visualizations icon, and in the System tab of the Visualizations pane, select Waterfall.
  2. Click the Select a source button in the Data pane, in the Select a source window go to Samples > By feature > Core > Data. Select the Great Outdoors data module and click Add.
  3. Drag the following data sets onto the indicated fields:
    • Product line onto the x-axis field
    • Return quantity onto the y-axis field
    • Quarter onto the Sub-categories field
  4. Click Properties. In the Chart section of the Visualization tab, click Sub-category values and select Change, and click Sub-category totals and select Cumulative.
