Setting data table properties

Use the data table properties to customize the table appearance and functionality.

You can specify formatting for individual column titles or bodies, or for the whole data table. When you specify formatting for the whole table, the formatting is automatically applied to new columns that are added later.

About this task

The properties can be specified in the Page design or Page preview view.

Procedure

  1. Select an object in the data table for which you want to specify properties. To select the whole table, click the upper-left corner of the table.
  2. In the application bar, click the Show properties icon Show properties icon.
    The properties pane is opened.

Depending on the object that you select, the related properties are shown in the properties pane. Read the title at the top of the properties pane to be sure that you're viewing properties for the expected object.

You can also click the Select ancestor icon select ancestor icon in the title bar of the properties pane, and click the related item in the list of objects to view their properties.

  3. Specify the properties as required.

If you're unsure what some properties mean, click the property name and read its description at the bottom of the properties pane.
